Forest Cover change, 2000-2012

Use the dropdown menus to choose a variety of options and note there is a slider below each menu that lets you control transparency. As you might expect, there was significant loss of forest cover in the pines, but there are also some areas of gains.

It is cool. The loss in forest cover in the area east and west of 206 south of Atsion Lake and near Lower Forge/ Mannis Duck Pond were due to fires.

I believe the map even depicts some areas with heavy Southern Pine Beetle damage.
