All,
I took off work today, and along with Rob who I work with we spend the day hiking and exploring the Great Swamp. By 8AM we were in the woods SE of Dutchtown bushwhacking our way into the swamp. Our first find was this large deer stand similar to one we found on a previous PBX hike.

Our next stop was the one Burlington County Monument I have not visited in that area of the pines. Number 63 has now been visited.
Then we visited the most NW corner of the Rockwood tract to check it out. This area is the rectangular lot shown here on Google. Look closely.

There was so much water the savannahs were draining out.
We finally made it to the large savannah area shown here.

I can tell you there is not a water shortage in the pines. We walked in water for all 6 hours, most of it close to the top of our knee high boots. But we were not at work, we were in the pines....what more could I ask for. An exhausting and interesting day. Did I mentioned we were not at work
