I believe when your talking about an auction such as ebay the money is going to the seller of the book. So John would not be seeing any of that money. I own several pine barrens books but that particular book is not in my collection. Can anyone tell me why it is getting such a high price on the auctions?

But he did make money on the initial sale of the book. Don't know if the ebayers are getting that price but it can't hurt to ask for it. I guess it's because it's out of print.

Which confirms what I was saying - he is not seeing any of that (the $350-500) money.

Ben's correct. With that said John did not seem upset when he found out I bought his "Heart of the Pines" book on eBay for $15. He was proud that he had made it to eBay. Then again he might have felt differently if someone had made $350 off of it and not $15.

Heart of the Pines has been reprinted and is available at the Visitor Center at Batsto Village and in Chatsworth at Buzby's Store. It is not necessary to pay ebay prices.
