There's a ton of web sites addressing this fictitious article. One pointed out that there's a statement on the masthead of the quoted website pointing out that it's articles are fictitious.
Seems there's a cult of people believing in giants in past times. A recent TV series catered to them.
Astonishes me that people can get locked into beliefs that are so obviously wrong - flat earth believers, moon landings were a staged hoax, and the like.

I have pdf files of old new your times and chigago tribune articles of giant skeletons being dug out of the mounds and sent to the Smithsonian. These are actual newspaper articles anyone can hunt up on microfilm. These skeletons have disappeared and no one seems to know where.
Genesis 6:4 ¶There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown..
They still have many of the skulls in a museum in Peru.
