My wife and I and the dog hiked a few miles along the east bank of the Batsto on Sunday.
It was one of the quitest days I can remember in the pines. It was cold and gray with absolutely no wind and there was a lot of moisture in the air deadening the sounds.
The skies were gray and it felt like snow, which it did later that night.
I took the camera but I only took 2 pics because everything looked so lifeless.
Last night I took my normal walk through the woods right here and it was again so quiet I could hear only myself breathing.
Here are the two pics from Sunday:

I also went out Sunday. At one point my arms rubbing on my sides as I walked sounded loud, it was so still and quiet. Great day!

Because of work related travel and the holidays I've been just about everywhere but South Jersey since November. This past Saturday was my first weekend out and about in the Pines in quite a while. Spent about 6 hours wandering the Pygmy Pines out of Coyle Field. It was biting cold, but with clear skies, and no other soul to be found, it was quite a nice day. Once I get my home computer up and running again I'll post some pics.
