Sorry to not have pictures, but my my camera remains broken and I need to buy a new one. Tuesday was 67 with a light breeze so I took the afternoon off as "mental health time", as some health issues may lay me up for a while soon. I put my canoe in at Harrisville Lake to fish and what a perfect day it was! I actually had my shirt off enjoying the sunshine (until the sun went behind the trees, when it suddenly got pretty chilly)! The Pickerel cooperated and the day was good medicine, after a not so good doctors visit. What a perfect day. Hope to have a camera soon for future trips. The pines are beautiful!

Pine barrens is an amazing place when poor health news is received. I've been there a couple times (receiving end of bad doctors visits) and the pine barrens has always cleared my mind. Hope all is well.

Good one Ben! Somehow I don't see this water curing anything.

Should have taken a sip of some of the water from Paint Island Spring. That would have fixed you right up. :)

Can you give me directions? At this point I'll try just about anything :) . And I agree with the sentiments that the Pines are good medicine. I felt so much more at peace driving home. I have a CT scan Wednesday morning, I'll definitely go from the lab right to the pines tp clear my mind! Thank you all for the well wishes.

Not to worry, my spirits are high. It's nothing life threatening, it's a painfull tumor, they're pretty sure it's benign, but it's in a difficult spot to remove. I may face an uncomfortable recovery period, and as winter is my hiking season I'm hoping recovery goes quickly. I missed last winter from H1N1 Flu, the Pneumonia, Bronchitis, etc.... and I've never smoked in my life, go figure :). I don't want to miss another! On the other hand, I've had one of my most enjoyable seasons ever in my canoe. I appreciate the concern and hope to meet in the big woods sometime!

Sorry to hear of your health situation, Greg. I truly hope the treatment/surgery and recovery go as smooth and quickly as possible. Glad you had a great day on Harrisville lake. I haven't been out there in awhile and you have me thinking that I ought to go back.

I was looking over the 1970 summer edition of the Batsto Citizens Gazette and found this photo of the old dam at Harrisville. By 1975 they were replacing it with the present dam.

Thanks Jeff. As I said, the pick's cooperated and I fished until just abour sundown. It's a lake I don't fish often, but I've been there twice in the past 2 weeks and they were biting. I appreciate the well wishes, evaluation is this Friday at Jefferson.

Transferered to another specialist on Dec 16th at Jefferson. We'll see. More frustrating not knowing.
This nice weather keeps up, I have to get the canoe out again! Appreciate all the well wishes.

gregg, hope you feel better....................................glad to hear you actually caught pickerel down on harrisville..............i never had much luck on it........................what bait do you use...............ive used killies for years now.............they invariably work.............but now that theyve drained it,i suspect it will be years before the lake recovers ........whats your thoughts on that............press on, strom, barnegat

I used the smallest size Bass Assassin fake minnows and let them wind drift. My first thought when I read your post was that it will be years for the fishing to recover at Harrisville. Appreciate the well wishes health wise. Next step is at Jefferson Hospital on the 16th.
Thanks,
Greg
