Well Steve, now I know why you like Friendship so much.
I could spend a month back there. Actually, I think I could live back there.
We got there at one and left at around 5.
We hit some of the more remote spots by following the dikes out to the west and then headed south.
We ran into a little Deliverance scenario at the edge of one of the bogs and my wife was spooked for the rest of the day.
Two guys, one about 60 the other about 35 were broke down in a full size Ford van that really didn't look like it belonged back there.
The hood was up and they said they came back to fish and when they went to leave, no go.
I asked them if they had any one coming to help them and they said yes.
The younger guy said: "I taught I herd sumwun cumin' up da road wen I seen youz."
My dogs tail went down and he started cowering. He actually tried to jump in the bog and swim away. The dog, not Billy Bob.
He is usually a good judge of character and I think he smelled a character.
Oh well. I mapped a way out that didn't include walking by them again.
Another great day in the Big Woods and what a beautiful area.
Here are some pics.
