I enjoy philosophical (not political) debates. It was fun to come up with a response.

There is no shortage of human suffering and mistreatment of children in this world, including right here in the United States.
Changing the life of a child or helping a family in need through devotion of time and other resources, is more beneficial to society than making sure Jumbo has fresh water.
The way we treat this planet and its animal life is in direct correlation to the way we treat each other. By not living in some type of harmony with the natural world how can we expect to do any bettter with each other?
The elephant has played many roles with man. It fought, traveled, and lived with us for a long time. Circus' are to stupid to realize pushing a big emotional animal into situations it wont like can cause a rampage.
I do believe elephants can live in sanctuary's and certain zoo's. Many of my close friends and family work in Zoo's. They all help teach us the world is a better place with a variety of life.
Aren't we stewards of our world

As you can see, it doesn't take much to fire me up.

All I can say is "welcome Ed!"

I notice that I am listed as having joined in April, 2006. Actually, I've been a member for years, but not having posted before, I imagine my original membership was dropped at some point.
