Help identifying this aquatic plant

Near the shore of Harry Wright lake in whiting. Appeared to be a living sea anemone kind of plant.

Where needed.
It looks like one of those soft gummy fishing lures. The "skirt" part of it looks to be free of aquatic growth but the body with a mouth at the end is covered with silt/algae.
What size was this?

Although fishing is not allowed in that lake, apparently some do. Looks like a 4" yamamoto creature

I feel so dumb, I thought it was some alien life in the lake, duuurrrr.. Thanks for the replies.
