Man, ever since the rain last weekend the mosquitoes have been terrible at my place. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yep and the bug juice doesn't help much. Emptying any standing water was equally ineffective. West Nile has been confirmed in several locations around us. Maybe a bug suit is next, maybe not.

It was raining pretty good this morning at 6am as I was heading west towards Millville from the shore.

All I know is that I'm sick of the heat and I am especially sick of the humidity. If we have to go through hell to get some cooler temperatures and drier air, I say, "Bring it on!"

We had some light rain, about 1/20 of an inch. Big deal. Looks like a good chance for more however. But you sure are right, the humidity has been really oppressive. Might get a little break for the next few days though, forecast calls for upper 70's/low 80's and nights in the 50's.

Bring it on. :)

It is getting close. I suspect by 4:30 or 5 I will get it.

Looks a lot like the usual pattern that never makes it to me. But the Southern part of the front has moved into Delaware and hasn't broken up yet so who knows? Tornado watch to the North, including the area around NYC - just saw this

Tsk, tsk, tsk.

It is an NRA womans program. With firearms in the house and her getting her purchase permits, I thought it might be something worthwhile for her to attend, and to my surprise, she agreed.

Geese, I have been a life member of the NRA for over 20 years and I did not know that. Good for your wife. I think everybody who owns a gun should be properly trained on how to use it, how to clean it, and how to safely store it. And they should understand the laws concerning the use of deadly force and the proper tactics should they find themselves in a situation where they need to defend their life. It always bothers me when I run into somebody who buys a gun for protection in their home who has never fired it, has no idea what the state of NJ considers a justifiable use of deadly force, and has no clue how to limit their exposure should somebody break into their home a threaten their life. When you're awakened at 3am by footsteps moving towards your bedroom door, and you're crapping your pants, that's a bad time to try and figure out what you're supposed to do, and a really bad time to discover that guns fired inside a house are as loud as a cherry bomb, have recoil and make a big white flash that scares the hell out of you...and that you can't hit the broadside of a barn because you have never been trained to shoot a gun.

It has been disapointing here. There may still be some rain and maybe something more but I doubt it. It does feel cooler though

I just want the high humidity to go away! I am tired of being soaked. At lunch today, I was even sweating profusely from eating. Next week is promising.
