The History Channel is running a program about "Days that Shook the World" and they had a segment about the Hindenburg. Pretty neat to see Lakehurst mentioned on TV, especially when you figure that most people say to themselves "where the hell is Lakehurst, NJ?" Anyway, one of the more interesting things they talked about besides the crash was that at the public viewing of the caskets a lot of Americans gave the Nazi salute and there were lots of Nazi flags hung in the hangar as well. It's understandable considering that in 1937 most Americans either didn't have a clue or didn't care what Hitler was about and figured it was a way to show respect, but still very weird to see.
