Here's some photos from my outings in the hot Pines this past month.

Lycopodiella caroliniana (Carolina Club moss) On State Endangered List as S3. Thanks Bob, for the ID

Utricularia purpurea (Purple Bladderworts) I liked the pattern

Cedar Waxwing (first time sighting)

Schizaea pursilla (Curly Grass Fern)

Very Refreshing

Stylosanthes biflora (Pencil Flower)

Pitcher Plant (I like the composition)

I need an ID on this one

Who am I? Not from the Pines, but near were I live.

The spider looks to be a Golden Orb Weaver ir at least an Orb Weaver of some type.
Once while in WV at Seneca Rocks visitor center I was inside looking through the big plate window at the rocks when a malke Cedar Waxwing flew into the window and fell to the concrete.I rushed out side to pick him up and see if I could save him.He was dead.There was a femal flying around chirping.I think he was her man (so to speak) Very sad.The girl who worked the register said it happens there often with many different species
