The spider looks to be a Golden Orb Weaver ir at least an Orb Weaver of some type.
Once while in WV at Seneca Rocks visitor center I was inside looking through the big plate window at the rocks when a malke Cedar Waxwing flew into the window and fell to the concrete.I rushed out side to pick him up and see if I could save him.He was dead.There was a femal flying around chirping.I think he was her man (so to speak) Very sad.The girl who worked the register said it happens there often with many different species
