I put in at Wilson Lake today and got pretty far upstream. I was amazed how far I could go without getting stuck. I did have a kayak. I never knew I had a mini river a mile from my house.

My Brother Piker and I went up stream there , it's Beautiful and so clear, great pickerel fishing

Pretty cool having that in the midst of that area. Any cedars, or is it all deciduous?

Cedars yes

Cedars about halfway up to the power lines. I'll start taking pictures.

I'm presuming the only reason I was able to go so far was the rain last night.

I'm presuming that won't be passable in the summer. I may be wrong.

Yes it gets very shallow in warm weather but you can still make up stream quite a ways , A Kayak would make it up even further . If you fish at all then use a tad pole sized assassin on a #8 weedless hook and no weight , have fun

I often fish there in my bass boat. I haven't been there in my canoe yet, so I haven't made it very far back.

My wife & I were there 4-28-09. Lots of pickerel, and she got a very nice Crappy. No Bass

How do you make out there , except for the trip Piker and I took up stream where we caught some pickerel, i've never caught anything out of there but one - 2 lb bass and never anything else . Is it just over fished ?

I normally do quite well there. The pickerel often save the day when the bass are not hitting well.
