The one on Piney Hollow Road in Winslow is probably the closest for me, outside of just joining the masses of people shooting right on the streets of Philly and Camden...

What's the difference between centerfire and rimfire?

A centerfire round has the primer located in the center of the shell, and the firing pin strikes it in the center. A rimfire round has primer material formed into the rim of the base, and the firing pin strikes the rim. I don't know the advantages and disadvantages of each, but I think rimfire was earlier and less reliable, perhaps.

rimfire is much cheaper to mass produce, it is not reloadable.22 LR & short is really the only thing out there now that is rimfire. .22 magnum is also rimfire. In a centerfire round the primer is a seperate componet.
