You can tell he knows how to drive in the mud, but his vehicle just does not have what it takes to take on that hole. Cockpit trouble!

you can't do that up here where i live, too many rocks, your tires just won't sink down, the problem is traction on steep inclines as a bunch of us local hikers saw yesterday as we hiked up a steep switch-back old road to the of a big hill in the woods when the owner of the mountian came down and lost traction while breaking on the rocks (he didn't mind us hiking on his property), our hike turned into a "bushwack" through laurel and over rain swollen runs to our destination

As long as this was being done outside of a main driving path, I have no issues with rutting up and area. What bothers me is when the main thru-way has been rutted a foot or two. It doesn't make for an enjoyable trip for me and others. As a side note, I hope I don't happen to see that beer bottle lying on the side of the trail next time out.

Did you find some local hiking buddies or did you import them?
