Internet Security Virus 2010

Anyone get this thing? I've been seeing quite a bit about it, very nasty. 2 people I know had their computers infected, had to re-install the OS to get rid of it, a PIA procedure. No known preventive procedure as yet from what I can see, other than backing up your stuff.

I successfully removed this virus from a PC that was brought to work for me to fix. It took a real long time and I had to use various tools to get rid of all of it. If the PC had a recent backup or an image it would have been much quicker to retore it than repair it.
I use Malwarebytes (free version) to help find a lot of problems and highly recommend it, but running it may be blocked by this virus and others. This link http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-internet-security-2010 is a good starting place for getting rid of this virus.

Thanks. I use malwarebytes. The folks I know that had the virus removed with no loss of data had it done with a combo of Linux and other software I don't recall.

I got it with Firefox.

My husband, who fixes computers for a living, uses Malwarebytes and Combofix.
