Has Wendy's recently shrunk the size of the junior hamburger? I noticed the past couple of times the wrapper is so much bigger than the burger. There's hardly any meat and they dont use those big onion slices like the used to.
Dave T would not be happy with the way his chain is being run. Now I have to get a 1/4lb single instead and spend a few dollars more.
Fast food is getting so expensive it's better just to go to a diner already.
Probably healthier too. Only thing unique about Wendy's is the frosty. Another thing those corporate hipsters that took over the company messed with is that there is now a vanilla frosty. The frosty was always chocolate, thats the way its supposed to be.
Now I got to say chocolate frosty so I don't get vanilla.
At least out west they got other chains like Carls Jr and In-and-Out.
My stomach cannot tolerate McDonald's, and Burger King aint much better.

Fast food for me is a rare indulgence, and when I do indulge I prefer McDonalds, even though their burgers have gone downhill in recent years.

The best fast-food burgers around, of course, are In-n-Out in California, but unfortunately we don't have 'em around here.

I had the unfortuneate experience yesterday to have my 1st MD's burger in quite some time. What a mistake. I'll stick with Burger King.

Yes this would indicate a slow news day eh?
Like anything else, don't get stupid about it & you'll be fine. A fast food burger now & then won't end your life, but doesn't compare to a real burger from a good joint. Wendy's was cool but there is an element there now that I am not fond of, can't imagine Dave would be either.

Well, to put a fun spin on the thread, I'll introduce a little favored trivia question of mine. Why are the Wendy's burgers square?
The answer is cool, for those that even give a hoot.

Because it maximizes the amount of meat per heating area.

LARGO:

I believe Wendy's sell square burgers because the corners hang outside the round buns, making the burgers appear larger than reality. Do I win the prize?
Best regards,
Jerseyman

That is also a cool angle and I believe it, but the answer I have is still out there. You're so good at having answers I was gonna fall over if you pulled this one off too and just give it up.

Never give up, George...at least over something I might say! I will be most anxious to mine your nugget of truth. Remember, there's nothing wrong with being square!

Best regards,
Jerseyman

P.S. I absolutely LOVE your latest signature line. A most profound statement—from your lips to God's ears!

Dave Thomas was originally from Kalamazoo Michigan, i think the idea was inspired by a hamburger joint he ate at called kewpie's that sold square burgers.

Clara Peller was a spokeswoman that had the famous saying on the commercial, "Where's The Beef "

She was replaced by Thomas after being fired for doing a Prego commercial in which she said " I finally found the beef "

Also there was an animated commercial.

This may sound nuts but I hoped to God that was not something I subconsiously pulled up from having read and therefore took undue credit.
It has come to me more than once while reading an old book, which I love to do (As well as new for sure), but man, an old book that's been around depending on where can just have a smell that triggers so many sensory issues.
And when you open the pages, there's apt to be good stuff inside. From your library I'd say you already know that.
When Jim & I met at the pic & I had him smell an old Philly almanac I have from the 30's that I was absorbed in at the time I thought... "this guy's gonna think I'm a wacko!"

George:

As you know, I love my books and there is much truth in what you write. When talking about modern technology and the internet, I often say that nothing will ever replace the simple pleasure of holding a book in my hand. The tactile response to the paper, the aromatic bouquet of the binding and the ink, the beauty found in the binder's art—it all combines to make holding and reading a book one of greatest pleasures and privileges known to man.

Best regards,
Jerseyman

Another good angle Jim, and if true even a little you're gonna start to make me doubt me own trivia goodie, but I read it at the time on good authority and then heard it on a radio show of all places.
Think "slogan"

George, i also gave you a whiff of the Reverend Beck's first printing of More Forgotten Towns Of Southern New Jersey. I wish it was signed though.
