Thought you guys might enjoy this post and related slideshow on my blog. I've been working on assembling the images for awhile. It's sort of my response to the popularity of Jersey Shore and all the Jersey-hating I see in the media and on Internet forums. If you see any errors in the pines-related image captions let me know and I'll correct them.

There are one or two small issues with Firefox and IE, but the slideshow works fine. Chrome still seems best all-around.

Very nice photos Mark!

Personally though, I don't feel the need to change anyone's mind if they think "New Jersey consists of a single strip of industrially polluted concrete". We already have too many tourists and too much development, so let 'em keep their stereotypes and stay where they are. ;)

Slideshow worked fine for me in Firefox on Vista 64, but took a very long time to load, and spawned a window with some Java code in it.

Nice! The Highlands of New Jersey are just as beautiful as the Pines! I lived up there for a few years before I made my way to South Jersey. My home in the Highlands was more rural then my home in Vermont.

Let the haters be haters! A lot of them most likely wouldn't appreciate the wild side of Jersey any how. I love Jersey!

Awesome slide show! The true beauty of Jersey!

Mark, that is really nice. Feel free to take any of my photos or ask me for any that you think I might have that you may need to flesh it out.

Mark, great article. You told it like it is with just the right amount of words, and yes, the pics were super. I also agree with Boyd, I don't want too many people moving here, so if they don't know about the good NJ, let them continue to think that the state is full of chemical plants and criminals.

I may do a second slideshow at some point, but rather than use my own images I'll solicit images from others. There are some pretty big holes in what I have. I don't have any shots of the midlands, the Hunt Country, or the shore (that are good enough to post).

Maybe we need a slideshow of refineries, toxic waste dumps, highways and criminals to scare them away? :D
