In my own view not my cup of tea. Look how they trap beaver . As long as the state says ok then it is.
That looks like what they call a "Coon Cuff" Supposedly painless,just immobilizes the animal till you can walk up to it and either shoot it and kill it or it has a heart attack from shear fear (i had a wounded bird die in my hand like that once,just fell over dead from a broken wing and fear of me). I don't think there is ever anything pleasant about dieing, nothing pleasant about starving either.I"d never kill for just fur but I sure as hell would to keep from starving and since it's dead I think I just my keep my arse warm with it's skin too. I wish the world was a gentler place,unfortunately it's not:-(
