Michael Antoine Garoutte was my 5th great grandfather. With 14 children, it sounds like there are a lot of us out there. Going through some family artifacts and I’ve found a handwritten letter from Magdalene and Charlotte to Sophia date Feb 1787. It sounds as if Magdalene had just seen and heard from Michael for the first time in 12 years and learned that he had married Sophia - it mentions his nobility but is essentially a “welcome to the family” letter. Michael has apparently promised his daughter Nancy to be raised by Charlotte.

Following in Magdalene's spirit of welcoming, ukgoffer, welcome to NJPB! I didn't realize that Michael Antoine Garoutte was a noted local figure until doing a quick search after looking at your ancestor's letter. There were two old threads here on his tavern from 2013 and 2016 (well before I got here):

Tavern in Pleasant Mills, NJ

Garoutte Tavern in Historic Pleasant Mills, New Jersey

Now when it comes to having ancestors with fourteen children, that's a subject of which I do have knowledge. My father had eleven brothers and two sisters. :)
