Just remind me in the springtime and I'll take you out in my lake.

Thanks. We will hit it in the spring. Looks like a real nice spot.

I caught a 20" Pickerel once that had a mud sunny half way down his throat that was the length of my hand.

I'm just looking for somewhere different to fish. I found some "hidden looking" lakes on google earth but can't tell if its fishable or on private property. I stopped a cool looking stream in Waretown by wells mills park. Nice looking water but no fish. I remember there being alot of lakes to fish in the pines when I was a kid. :bang:

Wells Mills park is OK. Caught a couple big bass & sunnies there. The bass I caught were by the park bench area. I tried hiking around to other areas, but never had much luck.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I have been busy an haven't kept up email or forum disscussion.

Okay, Buddtown. I have this area pretty wired since I used to live nearby. I have to kept my best fishing holes very secret but I will give you some real good suggestions.

The reeves bogs are good for fishing. They are a large network and there are enough areas to explore to take up most of a fishing trip. This bog is probably the best

fish the weir on the south east side for lots of action. Fish the north western size right along the shore a little before dusk for some real big ones. There are perch in this bog as well as pickerel. Catfish.

try here also.

If you want to try Lebanon lake, try this area

Of course there is also Mirror lake, Pemberton lake, country lakes, and what is left of Presidential lakes but they are not as remote.

whites bog has alot of bogs to fish. I have had mixed results in there. I never caught anything in this large reservior

But I have caught some big one's here. http://maps.njpinebarrens.com/#lat=39.97473581647971&lng=-74.49464321136474&z=17&type=nj2007&gpx= Look for the wooden lifted dock when you cross over the outgoing stream. there are catfish as well as pickerel in there. It is very beautiful and away from it all.
Okay, there are more areas but I'm pretty tired. this should could you busy in the area. I am not as familar with the waretown area for fishing. but Wells Mills has some fishing as mentioned above. There are bass in Wells mills.

Jeff

Jeff,

Thanks for the info. Never tried Reeve's bogs. I'll venture out there soon.

The ones off of south boundary road, are those dirt roads in? Is is legal to drive a vehicle back there or do you have to walk back from the road. I am up in monmouth county looking to get away from the crowds and play with some pickerel. I came across this thread. I cant tell from the satelite images how close you can park to the bogs. I have a kayak I am going to fish off of. I'm purely C&R when I fish freshwater and I am not a slob who leaves trash behind so I am not going to screw up anyones fishing holes. Any info would be helpfull. I am looking to spend an afternoon hopping around some of the bogs and little ponds.

Yes, you can drive there on the dirt roads. A car could do it, as long as it hasn't rained. You have to approach from lakehurst road/530 from the south. Southboundry road is on fort dix property i think. Good luck.

Thanks
Im in a 4 WD Truck, so terrain is not too much of an issue, I was asking from a legality standpoint. And if they were actually dirt roads or just small paths. Thanks for the info.

It has been many years since I have driven on S. Boundary/Range Rd, but way back then there was a guard shack and there probably is one now. All the woods around the bogs is Brendan Byrne State forest so you are fine there, just do like Jeff said and enter from Rt.530. I have caught many pickerel there and usually just jump from bog to bog. One note of caution: this is the place where I learned about chiggers so bring DEET.
