Me and my friend decided to do some rainy day exploring on Sunday. Our main objective was the Amatol town site and the old racetrack. Arriving at the town site, which is a ruin paradise, we put our rain gear on and walked around for a while, unfortunately it was raining hard so i did not take any pics, i did not want to innundate my new camera.
We then went to the racetrack, walked around for about an hour, very interesting site, but again no pics due to the rain. In the very near future we intend to explore these areas extensively, and of course when it is not pouring out.
Instead of calling it a day, we decided to travel to Lower Bank, then Green Bank. Outside of the old Pacemaker Plant which now has a Cavileer sign on it, i took this first pic, one grave says Sooy on it, the other is Cavileer, the grave in the middle i could not read. The rain slowed down considerably.
I then took this close up of the Sooy tombstone.
We then proceeded past the plant down the road along the Mullica, taking this pic of the Johnson Cemetary. You can just make out the Chew name on the one stone.
Then right next to the fenced in cemetary, is this cemetary that is on someone's property, of course i took the pic from the road. This is not fenced in.
We then got back in the car and went to Green Bank, taking this pic, notice the name Hattie on the gray small stone, is this the Hattie from Jersey Genesis ? This is in the Sooy plot.
We then got back in the car to go back to Lower Bank, turned off of rt.542 to old church road and photographed this.
The adjoining cemetary.
After this pic we got back in the car, i had one more stop to go to before we went home, i came up empty of what i wanted to find either though my gps said i was right on top of it, took this pic, does anyone know this bridge's name?
We only could look for what i wanted to find for about 30 minutes, the rain then came down heavily so we decided to go home, but of course on the way we stopped at my friend's house in Tabernacle for some cold refreshing Buds.
