Okay, I'll say it Terry. That is a real stretch to say you see a windmill there. I do understand though, that you are probably looking for one you know is there, so your eye settled on that and told your brain...there it is!

Time for the Rorshach test...top circle is the turbine and lower ellipse is the ladder with a diagonal brace coming in from the left and almost hitting it center.

This is one we never will agree on. There are so many things to see in that photo. I see the head of a tiger in the yellow circle.

OK, OK, OK...... "uncle!" However I think the photo was taken at the base of the bridge, looking west/northwest towards the clamhouse. This would have been the property of the Leek's boatyard I believe. During this time period there was boat racing/sailing on the river and the church ladies would make and sell sandwiches. The money they raised from these sales helped to purchase the parsonage..... It was sold in the 1970s and is now a private home.
