Is anyone having problem with maps loading that are acquired from terraserver-usa.com? If you use USAPhotoMaps or a Mac program that gets their aerial photo's from that site, could you tell me if yours are loading properly? Mine do not even load properly from the Live Maps on this site.

On the Windows side of things, i have no problems with NJPB Live Maps or USA photo maps, but, Terraserver looks like a mosaic scramble.

I saw that and thought "oh no I have to fix something." I am happy it's not broken on my end.

I am incredibly lazy though. There's a couple of things I want to do to NJPB Maps but am just too lazy to sit down and do them. :(

Anybody here a Javascript programmer? Want to inherit some code?

I thought the problem was over but it still is occurring :(

Thanks for everyone's input.

I have used yours several times now Ben. They are really helpful. I'd like to see that function expanded, but I do realize it takes work.

I would have used Ben's on all three links in my recent kayaking thread, but when I tried with two of them they would not display because of the terraserver-usa problem. Frustrating!

Yes to the first. Maybe to the second :). Shoot me a PM and let's chat about where you're trying to take it.

Again, is anyone having problems with terraserver-usa maps? That would be USAPhotoMaps and other programs. I honestly believe my IP address is being blocked by them somehow. It has been weeks since I have been able to use my map program properly. And Jessica is having the same problem so it is not my computer. I even loaded a previous version of OSX onto an external Firewire drive and still have problems.

Well, I wrote them but I don’t see anything happening. This morning I loaded 10.4 onto my firewire drive and downloaded a fresh copy of my Mac mapping program and put it on that drive. I then booted up from that drive and installed the program and the same things happens. I went to your site and the Terraserver site and it also is still happening. Also in Windows with USAPhotoMaps. Jessica loaded the Mac program I use into her computer this morning with the same results.

Soon I will load USAPhotoMaps into Jennifer's computer and try with that one again. Something odd is happening here that is really frustrating me.

Jennifer is having the same problem with USA on her PC, and I just contacted my brother and he can't get the maps on Ben's site to load properly. So there must be someone out there having the same problem as me. Maybe on Comcast. Anyone????????

Are you talking about the "DOQ" maps? They seem to work fine on my computer (MacBook Pro with MacOSX 10.5.3 and Safari 3.1.1). I don't know how Ben has implemented these, but do the USGS topo's come from the same place (as they do in USA PhotoMaps?). They work fine for me too. I have Verizon DSL.

Very strange...

Yes, DOQ maps. So it appears I may want to contact Comcast, and that means the problem will never be solved.

I would think, and Ben can confirm, the maps come from the same place.

Thanks Jim. I read that Comcast is cutting speed on high volume users, but my brother I would say is not one of them. However, they must be doing something else since so far it is Comcast users having that problem.
