That is a real shame. I feel for the guy. I hope he is able to make the adjustment. It seems that stories of hunters falling out of deer stands come up often.

I work with a guy who no longer hunts out of trees because he got drunk while in a stand and fell asleep subsequently falling fifteen feet to the ground.Didn't really hurt him much on a permanent level but he has quit hunting from trees because of it.He now is a ground hunter.I think my solution to the problem would have been to quit drinking while hunting.

I think that is one of the most beneficial reactions to getting drunk and you read about it all the time, but few catch on and practice it. The ability of excess intoxication of alcohol to protect one from serious bodily injury or worse. Of course the threat of serious bodily injury, or worse, is a direct result of the intoxication, but if it also protects you, what the heck. It may be better than Obamacare :D
