Multiple casualties are reported after at least two explosions were heard near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, according to the Boston Herald.
Witnesses reportedly heard two booms that sounded like two claps of thunder near the finish line inside the Fairmount Copley Plaza Hotel.
The explosions occurred just before 3 p.m. Video of the scene showed a number of emergency crews in the area tending to victims and blood on the ground near the finish line.

It is horrible that something like this even happened. Those poor people! As a nation, we need to change our policies so this never happens again! I can't even take a guess to who it may be behind the bombings. Korea, north Africa, crazed patriots?

Authorities have someone in custody. Someone really dropped the ball on this. Trash cans at an event like this? Are you kidding me?

The images and videos are just terrible. I am sorry for the victims, and I pray for the peace of mind for families and friends of those affected. I hate feeling helpless watching people suffer. There are videos and pictures out there that are very graphic and horrible, just be aware of watching or viewing them if you are upset by seeing people badly injured. Many strong emotions right now. Only cowardly scum could do something like this.

It's horrible. I literally became sick in the stomach when I first heard about it.

But it doesn't have anything to do with the pines and there are probably better places to discuss it...

My first reaction was to pack a bag and get ready to head to Boston.... But it is looking like this is not the "terrorist" attack we thought it was.....
Do we not have enough to worry about...than people BORN here scaring the living s*** out of us too!?!?

I am sorry Boyd, you are correct! I was composing my last and thinking hard what I was going to say when you posted.

I agree that if we are talking solely about the pines that this is not the place for this!

The bombing of the Boston Marathon affects me... I worked ground zero for months during the "9/11 incident". This newest episode scared the s*** out of me.

I am very curious how everyone here feels about it.

Certainly not for me to say what can or cannot be discussed here so that was just a personal opinion.

However there are many things that affect us all... the presidential election, gun control, ATV's.... Threads on those topics generally don't end well and Ben has been pretty clear about his feelings regarding discussion of such things.

Maybe it's just me, but I couldn't discuss this without touching the "third rail" of politics.
