Don't sound like his grand dad but sure does look like himHank 3 singing his grandfather's song.
Enjoyed Mel Tillis saying "he's a little raw around the edges". Not in this song, but yes, yes he is.
Regarding Wooley swamp, I had my grandson (14) amazed a couple weeks ago. We were talking about someone who was walking in the woods at night, and they were scared to death. I told him that I personally feel safer in the deep woods than I do on a suburban street. I said that once I'm in deep, I get a real sense of calm all throughout my body, and that I'm 100% confident I'd hear someone coming well before he'd even knew I was there. He had nothing to say, the entire thought of that was foreign to him.

With today's technology, the danger of not even finding my body is minimized. There is a feature on I phone called "share my location". It's the last row on every contact I have. It lasts for as long as I want.I love the woods at night.I leave the Boogey Man back in town as you say. People come up with all kind of imagined fears, snakes, likkered up pineys, bigfoot or the Jersey Devil but ignore real dangers like a stick in the eye or walking up on an irate skunk. I only use a light when absolutely necessary and if there is a full moon it's the best of both worlds.
I am quite happy with the world being scared of swamps and the dark if it keeps me alone in the swamp, the down side is what you fear you have no problem seeing destroyed so do we teach folks to love the swamp to protect it or keep them afraid to keep it to ourselves?) Hmm???
