how old would those wrecks be?100 years? I did a shipwreck tour in a glass bottomed boat in lake superior a couple years ago.The bopats were wooden schooners that hauled iron. The details left on them were wastounding. The cold fresh water they claim preserves wood and iron whereas salt water destroys iron through corrosion and the critters eat away the wood. This wreck looks similar to the ones i seen there only they were in 10 to 50 ft of water.

Al, the wrecks are about 140 years old. I'm jealous of your underwater excursion!

I actually was safely in a boat.I always wanted to learn to dive but never did but a snorkely and mask would have worked as well though the water of Superior is quite cold even in summer.Wetsuit would be required.Thats how old these boats were,in the 140 year range hence probably why they looked similar. They were in the same stage of nautical evolution from dugouts:)

and another.Hey I thought this thread was for music.Sorry Oji

It is amazing the lack of fish life inside this wreck. The only living thing I see is freshwater barnacles.A similar wreck in 50 ft of saltwater would be a living aquarium.Superior water hovers in the low 50's in mid summer and is about as clear as lake water gets.

Ray seems to always have a good time. What could be better than that!
