My mother took her first real trip into the Pine Barrens today.
We hiked from Carranza to Apple Pie Hill. We got a late start so we had the hot part of the day to deal with. It wasn't that bad. We only had tics on us on the way back. Being in pines this late(I'm never in the Pine barrens June-Aug) reminded why I don't go in the summer. Five more degress and the bugs would have been horrible. After a great wings stop at the Pic we drove up Hampton Rd to the bogs on the left. We passed about 8 jeeps and atv being towed out just in two miles. Thank god these meatheads love the heat. When my cousin and I go out between Oct - April we virtually see no one. Lets hope it stays this way. Either way my mother realizes why I love the PB so damn much. I still have much to show her. Just thought I share.
