When I got home from work on Tuesday night my neighbor told me that he had a huge snake in his front yard just before I got home. He snapped a picture before the snake went on his or her way. I'm certainly no expert but it looks like a pine snake to me. I've been living here 34 years and that is the first pine snake I have seen around the house. We have had black rat snakes and garters are very common.

I really hope that this pine hangs around and develops a taste for moles and voles and the occasional feral cat. He could fatten up quickly around here. pineIMG_3469 (1).PNG

Glad you are happy with it around Scott. It is a great snake to have in your yard.

Interesting that ones werent seen prior and now one turned up. Good sign that perhaps the population is expanding. Very cool.
