When I got home from work on Tuesday night my neighbor told me that he had a huge snake in his front yard just before I got home. He snapped a picture before the snake went on his or her way. I'm certainly no expert but it looks like a pine snake to me. I've been living here 34 years and that is the first pine snake I have seen around the house. We have had black rat snakes and garters are very common.
I really hope that this pine hangs around and develops a taste for moles and voles and the occasional feral cat. He could fatten up quickly around here.
