A couple of pix from when my son used to band the chix.

An eye to the sky for Momma. They like to dive-bomb intruders.

They are on their way to S. America for the winter. Real snowbirds. Time to begin looking at the Eagle cams, a few more months until they begin working on their nests.

One more indicator that it will be warmer soon! As of right now, the weather conditions look to be the same as here, a snowy mix with wind, and I am sure the Ospreys are just as confused as everything else is with this unusual spring weather. What's up with the time and date on the camera? Both are a little off.:)

Here is another cam inside the Forsythe Refuge
http://www.conservewildlifenj.org/education/ospreycam/

Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey has installed a high resolution, wireless, web-linked camera on an osprey nest at Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge in Oceanville, NJ. The purpose of this camera is to engage the public in osprey protection and to educate them about the challenges to osprey recovery. The live feed with sound (in progress) will be broadcast here 24/7 during the nesting season for ospreys from March through August. We are also developing an educational program that will be used to educate the public about ospreys, their threats, recovery efforts, and ways people can help, which includes the creation of a tri-fold brochure and a coloring book for children.

Yes the osprey have started to return to the area this month. When I sit on the beach and wonder why the hell I can't catch a fish with my rod & reel, I watch the osprey fly overhead with fresh fish in their talons and wish I was an osprey that day
