I met Steve for the sander yesterday, and we poked around in the woods a bit, taking a photo here and there. He was showing me how to shoot a manual shot.

Im at that spot alot. Like it there too. Was surprized when I found it underwater this year. But the 'lake' is drying up again.
Your first shot is how I found it the first time I was there. I don't know if it would be considered a vernal pond as it does not dry up completely.

Seriously, that is a cool spot and some nice photos. I think I've been there myself a few years ago.
