The Egg Harbor Township Committee has declined a transfer of 5.6 acres of Green Acres-designated land from Atlantic County, which could have been used to build the first fully public dog park in the area.
While the township encouraged the county to continue working with the nonprofit group on the project — using a different 5-acre site off Spruce Avenue — officials say a direct lease with the county is unlikely.
