Northern Lights Over the Pines

A bonus phenomenon: comet C/2023 A3 over the Pine Plains just after sunset last night. After this month it won't be back for about 80,000 years.
My son lives in Upper Pittsgrove Township and was able to get this shot. We were unable to see anything at our place here.
I could see a pink hue, but photos showed more visible then the naked eye
The absolute strongest I saw it get was at Batsto - the blood-red sky behind the mansion really was visible with the naked eye. At other points, long exposures with the camera were necessary to really see the shape and color properly. Adjusting your eyes to the darkness also helps significantly.
My son called me to come pick him up. When I walked out the door (which faces west) I saw a pink sky but no clouds. When I looked north the sky was completely red. I didn’t even know there was a chance for the northern lights that day.
I fear I might be busy in 80,000 years so we decided to try and see the comet.

Like others have said, amazing photographs - and how much more amazing to have actually been there and seen it! I've never seen anything like it.
