"The New Jersey State Park Service is hosting 29 hikes, 1 mountain bike ride, and 1 horseback ride in state parks, forests, and historic sites on News Years Day as part of America's State Parks First Day Hikes program." https://www.state.nj.us/dep/parksandforests/parks/first_day_hikes.html

Hate hiking in a group? Go anyway! A few hours of walking and suffering and you'll have something to complain about to family and friends besides the weather and politics.

For those hikes that require registration, it's not too late to sign up. Outdoor Club of South Jersey's annual Atsion - Mullica River hike does not require registration. Just show up! But be prepared for a large crowd on that one.

I did the Mullica River hike this morning. Huge crowd indeed. Over 100 people.

That's great. Hope you had a good time. I see Outdoors Club has some photos up on their meetup page. I was in a different part of Wharton today. Did you see the SNOW FALLING?
