The proper name of the facility is "Heritage Minerals." It was owned by Asarco, hence Sarco. Crystal Lake was the name given to the huge lake that formed on the property due to strip mining.

i forget where i read it but i did read somewhere the swamp monster was abandoned because their was a spring of really heavy rains that flooded great swamp so bad while the logging was going on that the loggers packed up and quit logging and had to abandon the monster because of it"s weight it sunk and couldn"t get out.
