Oswego Kayak trip 7/4/06

the spring runoffs on little side legs of the river. (water was about 10 degrees colder and crystal clear)

Jim,
How deep were these "little side legs". When I did the Oswego it was in very low water but the little side stream runoffs were deep, clear and refreshingly cool. The water came up to my neck. I love that river.

Long-a-coming,

Water depth at that time was about 4-5 foot.. It was really cool seeing crystal clear water in the pines for a change. Lots of life in those clear river fingers. Caught...(handled and released) a nice array of painted turtles and saw a cool spotted turtle and a musk turtle. Were going to go back and take a whole day to strictly explore those neat "side trails" off the river. I think the aquatic life loves the cooler water and shade. Im betting that is probably drinkable right out of the water but I would definitely filter it first. Even saw a pickeral hanging around in the clear sections.
