paint island spring

Ben found it and some of us visited it a few years back. It is located right along a road near a bridge and there are million dollar homes being built there. The spring still "works" and there is a really cool circular brick ring around it.

If you remember Steve you were with us. We stood on the bridge and at one point Bob thought I was going to get hit by the cars.

There is supposed to be a natural spring in Silverton. Not exactly the Pines, but somewhat close. I know where it's supposed to be; never did get there though.
Paint Island Springs may be famous because of the celebrations that went on there, but there are many other springs found throughout the pines where water just flows out of the ground. They just are more remote and not known about. We have encountered many of them in our travels and each time they are fascinating when we find one. Unfortunately, not everyone feels that way, and vehicles are damaging some of them such as the one on the side of the big hill at the Forked River Mountains.

Yeah, they are often so understated, so unnoticable, I think most people often confuse these areas with just "a swampy area"
