Tragic story. I cannot imagine how the wife feels right now.

I doubt that it was the kind of stand in the photo though. Many of my PA friends who own ground up there have elaborate, all wood treehouse blinds made as solid as as a house. I hunted out of a few in Tunkhannock that had actual stairs leading up to the door. Very comfortable and one of them can accommodate 5 people. As in the article, all of these guys I know use Heater Buddies, very compact propane heaters that run off the small bottles. I have one but have yet to use it mainly because I like to hunt as simply as possible..

Saw a tree stand last week that was flourished with the remains of either a fake christmas tree or fake wreaths in the hopes deer would not recognize the hunter. Certainly garish though, displaying a glossy sheen in a green color uncommon in the pines.
