Nobody has been at these including deer. I had to push away other vegetation to photograph it and I saw the other two when I was down on the ground. They are much more hidden and not looking as nice as this one. I will go back next weekend. There may be more but I did not see them.

Questing, seeking, trying to grab onto your pants leg.

From today. I think tick nymphs? The really neat thing about this though, is that the plant is Rhynchospora torreyana, a plant I have never seen in my neck of the woods prior to today.

I looked on the weekend at my usual locations and did not find them.
There were just a few blooming in FPP, then I took a ride down to EHC TO check out a spot I was told about that has Slender rattlesnakeroot and there was a good number of Gentians blooming there.

I looked for the rattlesnake root that Bob and I found near Locks Bridge. The woods have grown up so much since the fire there I could not find it. I think it is a goner.

I may go back one day in the winter and thin out the area right were it was at. I have a photo showing it's exact location in relationship to the trees around it. So I would only need to cut the brush a few feet in each direction.

I brought up with Guy the subject of a volunteer citizen workforce to spruce up and open up (as required) areas that have great wildflowers and scenic beauty that are now choked up with brush etc. I'd coordinate it if I can get the state to sanction it.
