Maybe some of you think he has a chance. I don't. He'll choke in the critical situations ahead. Its in his blood. He has disappointed me too many times before to take him seriously.

But, if he somehow pulls this out, I'll humble myself and tie your shoes the next time I see you.
 
Yesterday was such an improbable day I'm still riding an emotional high from the incredible turn of events. Its hard to argue with your points about Donny Mac though Bob and his press conference had some elements of arrogance and insecurity. He made it a point to say "We have spit in his face." That pissed me off a little, I mean being a quarterback that comes with the territory. I've never heard Bradshaw wine that the Steelers fans hung Terry dolls in effigy in the beginning of his career. Mcnabb's skin is so thin I also question his resolve when the games get tight and he has to drive his team down with two minutes left. All that criticism aside, I do have faith in the defense which is soild and deep in the secondary, an emerging D-line, with some hungry young linebackers. Mcnabb could prove us wrong in the playoffs and I would love to be wrong about him. I can honestly say the game in which Mcnabb was benched I made a statement, "Mcnabb is done."
I was very wrong that day.
 
I've supported Mcnabb again and again over the years, even after the bitter disappointments. I regret to have given up on him earlier this year. I'm glad he's the Eagles quarterback, and I hope he stays for some years to come.

44-6, man! The birds just completely humilated and annihilated the boys for a playoff berth. It doesn't get any better than that.

Bob, sit back and enjoy. The Eagles will go to Minneapolis and take care of business, and then it's back to the Meadowlands to humble the Giants on their own turf again.

Say, my Pine Barrens Brothers, my birthday is this coming Sunday, the day of the game. Let me know if you'd like to celebrate with me.
 
I agree McNabb is very thinned skin and likes to project to the media that he really isn't....its a false confidence. But I think its pretty obvious how thin skinned he is when is parents have to be interviewed all the time in his defense.....sounds like Lindros back in the day. As far as Donnie Mac as a qb, philly fans have become spoiled over the years. Your talking about a qb that has taken the team to a super bowl and 3 NFC championship games(feeley did most the work in 02-03). He has taken them to the playoffs in 6 out of 10 years and was hurt in one of those. While McNabb is historically not very accurate you have to look at the weapons he has had through the years. He has never had a full cast of weapons other than TO and they went to the super bowl that year. Your talking about receivers like hank baskett, kevin curtis, torrence small, charles johnson, na brown, todd pinkston, greg lewis....not exactly studs. And as far as the big games......well injuries in big games have been brutal forcing more pressure on McNabb(buck in the st. louis game, westbrook vs. carolina, TO in the super bowl). We will see what happens this year but if this is McNabb's last year(it is he wants out), philly fans will be eating there words in the years to come. Hopefully it doesn't go back to the days of rodney peete, bubby brister, bobby hoying, ty detmer.....I can't deal with that again.

Also Mcnabb saying he's been spit at, thrown dirt on, etc....is a bunch of nonsense the national media rips this guy way more then the philly media. It is really the Angelo Cataldi listening crowd that dislikes McNabb. Quite honestly if you like watching football and talking it Angelo knows about as little about football as anyone out there....he's a jackass.
 
If the Eagles win the Superbowl can the city afford a victory parade? Maybe the Mummers should wait and see what happens so the two can be combined!
 
Not sure if I think they will win the Bowl, but there is something to be said for peaking at the right time and playing on house money. You see this in every sport, the phillies peaked at the right time, as did the Gints last year, and pittsburgh two years ago. We'll see what happens, but this certainly has silenced some of the Andy, Donovan bashers......there aren't to many QB's that can sit in the pocket on the goal line and consistently convert 3rd and longs. The guys talented...I hope he never leaves.
 
I usually can tell how the Eagles are going to do on game day when McNabb first shows his face out from the tunnel. If they get to the Super Bowl and the Ravens are in it, i cannot see the Eagles winning.

A simple misunderstanding. I had in mind the following definition of "old":

b. Used to express affection or familiarity: Good ol' Bob.

And "bitter" was also meant as a compliment. I regard bitterness as an excellent quality in a beer, and in a person as well.

Which reminds me of when I lived in Minneapolis back in the early 80s, and the natives called them "The Viqueens."

But the best story about the Viqueens from those days was "good ol'" Bud Grant, the stone-faced coach of the "frozen tundra" Vikings, who was then in his final years as coach. The Vikings drafted Darren Nelson, a diminutive halfback from Stanford. Darren whined volubly to the press that "I can't play in Minneapolis! They play country music in the discos!" When the sports reporters played that quote back to Bud and asked for a comment, Bud replied, with his stone face, "You tell Darren that it's a lie, we do *not* play country music in the discos in Minnesota. You tell Darren that Minnesota is the polka capital of the world!" And he was right. They *did* play polkas in the discos, in the supper clubs, in the country clubs ... everywhere. A working musician could not play a gig in the Twin Cities without several polkas in the repertoire, regardless of the crowd.

My kids each have basketball games Sunday, back-to-back, at the precise hours the Iggles play. Drat!

Chase Utley is hurt, so I'd put my money on the Giants.
