Oh yeah... it's interesting, these cells are popping up out of nowhere. One of them spawned just to the West and has been soaking me for at least an hour now. Thunder was shaking the whole house but that seems to have ended, no lightning (that I've seen). Bet I will see several inches of rain before it moves out. I'm right in the middle of the warning area. No wind, just steady rain.

Sun is shining again, got over 2 inches of rain in less than two hours. The temperature dropped about 20 degrees, feels very refreshing at 75 right now.

My daughter was in the Blackwood area running to her car in a downpour and was so wet she had to borrow clothes for the evening and wear them home. We had nothing here. The first rain I heard started at 2:30 this morning.

Flood Watch
National Weather Service Mount Holly NJ
250 AM EDT Sat Aug 28 2021

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* A portion of southern New Jersey...including the following areas...
Atlantic, Coastal Ocean, Cumberland, Ocean, and Southeastern
Burlington.

* Through this evening.

* A slow-moving cold front will affect mainly southeast New Jersey
through this evening. Additional rounds of showers and
thunderstorms remain possible through this afternoon. With
abundant low level moisture over the area, torrential downpours
are likely. As storms are also expected to be slow-moving, there
is an elevated potential for localized flash flooding, especially
in locations that received substantial rainfall during the past
couple of weeks.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

May I ask from which app or website this photo was obtained? At first, I thought it was RadarScope, but now I'm not thinking it is not.

Yes, it is RadarScope. Terrific app... available for Android, iOS, Windows, MacOS and even the AppleTV. Well worth the cost IMO.

Have it on my Android phone. That must be the tablet or desktop version you have there.

Flood Watch
National Weather Service Mount Holly NJ
500 AM EDT Mon Aug 30 2021

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH
THURSDAY EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Delaware, northeast
Maryland, and New Jersey, including the following areas, in
Delaware, Kent and New Castle. In northeast Maryland, Kent MD
and Queen Annes. In New Jersey, Atlantic, Atlantic Coastal
Cape May, Camden, Cape May, Coastal Atlantic, Coastal Ocean,
Cumberland, Eastern Monmouth, Gloucester, Northwestern
Burlington, Ocean, Salem, Southeastern Burlington, and Western
Monmouth.

* From Wednesday morning through Thursday evening.

* The remnants of Hurricane Ida will pass through the region
Wednesday through Wednesday night, finally departing on
Thursday. Periods of heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms
associated with this low will result in widespread 2 to 4 inches
of rain with locally higher amounts from late Tuesday night
through Thursday morning. Combined with wet antecedent
conditions, this will lead to flash flooding.

* Flooding of creeks, streams, urban areas, and poor drainage
areas is possible. Water is likely to cover the roads,
especially in low lying areas. Roads and structures near rivers
may be flooded.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that there is the potential for flash
flooding which can be life-threatening. Heavy rain is expected to
occur over a short period of time. Rapidly rising flood waters may
quickly inundate roadways and areas of poor drainage. Streams and
creeks could leave their banks, flooding nearby properties.

Please monitor the forecast, especially if you live in a location
that is prone to flooding. Be prepared to take action if a flash
flood warning is issued for your area.
