Hello -

Looks like some folks have noticed that we're seeing an increased number of spammers signing up in the last few days. Looks like they're all coming from Russia.

I've taken some actions in the back end to discourage the registrations, but it'd be helpful if folks see one that gets through for them to report the post rather than just reply to the thread with "spam" or something similar. Reporting the post lets Teegate and I know instantly and we can log in and take action, rather than have to dig around posts and find them on their own.

Just click on the "report" link at the bottom of the spammers message.

Thanks!

A word of warning!

Don't click any links on these spam posts. I saw the threads in the Russian language yesterday and foolishly clicked the attached link thinking it might have something to do with the pine barrens. My security software immediately identified it as a virus, which I was fortunately able to remove.

Be warned that they are creating screenames that are similar to current users. If you don't look or read closely before clicking on the links you may be fooled.

Folks

I just got an email on my computer (not NJPB Forum) from Verizon Support asking for my email address and password. First one in a long time. I called verizon in the past and they said just delete it there was nothing they could do about it and that they never ask for your user name or password. I just deleted it.

So, I guess everyone knows not to give this information out to anyone. Don

Funny how we never had any problems like this until pinelandpaddler posted that beach volleyball photo. I'm just sayin'.... :D

Funny, I just learned of that photo from your post Boyd. I had not viewed most of the thread. I had to search out pinelandpaddlers posts and look for it.

Since some of the spam is for Cialis, Jessica thinks it is because many users here need it. I'm just saying....

I used to like Spam as a kid but since growing old I don't even consider it edible anymore.

Perhaps Russian Spam is better?

So we are not alone! At least we know it is not specifically us they are after.
