Saw a big smoke plume coming up west of 539/north of 70 in the area of the joint base about 2 hours ago. They have signs up on 539 for an exercise in progress, maybe it got out of hand.

I was just in Hammonton also and saw the fire from route 30. Came back through Nesco and past the airport watch the smoke.

I'm assuming Phillips Bridge is Stone bridge. Ironic its where last years fire stopped.

I passed through Atsion on 206 during the fire and it seemed further away than that. But I may be wrong. In any event, the only Phillips I know of from Atsion was Hugh Phillips. I have never viewed anything that called it Phillips Bridge. The Wharton survey team called it a stone bridge.

Very windy this afternoon, and HOT - got up to 87. Then about 6:30 the temperature dropped like a stone as that storm approached, by 7:00 it was down to about 72. I got caught in the rain just as I returned from my evening walk. :p

Rained several times here. I'm sure it stopped the spread but if they couldn't get containment before it started they will have days of patrols until they can.
