Retirement Has Arrived

Just think of all the gas and wear and tear on your car that you could save by moving to the Pines. And depending on where you are now and where you move, you might be able to sell your old house for more than the new one as well as save money on taxes! :)

Wife's family is nearby, Jessica works close by and it would add a half hour to my other daughter's current 1 hour each way commute. It is not going to happen.

C'mon Guy! In the immortal words of Fred Rogers, "Won't you be my neighbor?" :) I'd be glad to have you!

I took this photo this morning, just a 15 minute walk out my front door while beaver scouting in Wharton. Looks like Maine. Google says only 3 minutes by bicycle. Probably the thousandth photo of this location that I have taken in the last 40 years.

Back in '84 when the realtor said... "That's Wharton State Forest" and pointed to the woods across the street, I couldn't sign the papers fast enough.

Im a traditional Celtic music fan and some of the podcasts I listen too use that word at the end of their podcast so I assume it's Goodbye or Seeya later?
Sorry, manumuskin for the delayed answer. I was sidetracked with family and Christmas. Sláinte is a drinking toast, usually. It means health. And if you are brave you say sláinte is táinte ( health and wealth)

Congratulations Guy. That’s great news! I can’t imagine how excited you are to have so much extra time to devote to the pines and anything else you want to pursue.

Congrats Guy! I emailed you the other day rather than texting you because I didn’t want to bother you at work, but here you were soaking up retirement! So happy for you!
