All,

As of today I am retired. I am sorry that I have not posted as much but as I have aged I have been finding it was harder and harder to concentrate on this site and work. I am hoping to change that since I will have more time to devote to research and exploring and finding the secrets in the pines that have eluded me so far.

Scott, sorry I have not told you but I did not want you to think about my retirement until I had to tell you. I am hoping to eventually spend more time exploring with you in the future when you finally pull the trigger.

The woods are calling and I must go!

Guy

Welcome to the beginning of your new life! I hear people talk about being bored or lost after they retire, there are articles and books about it. I don't get that, I go to bed every night wishing there had been more hours to do the stuff I wanted that day.

So - good for you! I'm sure you'll never be bored and look forward to hearing about your journey ahead!

Thank you all for your comments. I will keep busy. I also will have more time to exercise this summer and I made myself a promise that I will be 160 pounds or less fully clothed by then, down from the 174 that I am at now.

I love it that you are done and out of that shop. But like Steve, you'll also miss working with your hands, but the honey do list may grow.

I assume you are referring to me. I have plenty of things to fix on my car so working with my hands is going to continue.

I retired a little over a year now , The honey do list gets long
I am proud to say that I have never fallen victim to the Honey-Do List. I will never be a handyman, but I do like to do vehicle maintenance. (oil and brakes)
After 47 years together, my wife gave up on me a long time ago with having me do anything around the house ;)

My older son is an accountant, and is great at helping me with financial matters. When I tried to talk him through his first oil change however, he cross-threaded the drain plug when putting it back on, then cranked it tight with the ratchet. messing up the threads and causing a slow leak. My other son wouldn't likely make that mistake. He maintains F-16 engines for a living. We all have our niches in life. :)
