Dodge (WC54) The Dodge WC54¾ Ton, supply catalog designation G502, was a WC series 4×4 light truck developed during World War II. It served as the main ambulance used by the US army from 1942 to 1945, with some used as late as 1953 during the Korean War by the U.S. Army Medical Corps, and others serving as late as the 1960s in the armies of some European countries. I don't think that's the same truck. The windshield is different, as is the area over the front doors.

Just busting you guys a bit, see if any of you catch on. I'm sure one or two of you knew what I did. This truck is part of a unique park in Whiting that was created by WWII veterans. It is a small park built into the woods with a few exhibits like this along with some interprative signs. At the front there is a nice memorial to each service. It is clean and very well done, especially since it was inspired by all the vets living in the retirement homes in Whiting and surrounding areas(?). It is well worth a little visit on a sunny day. There is also a unique playground for the children in the front.
The playground is how you found it I suspect.
I knew it was there for a couple years. It's only 2 years old I think. Took my grandson there.
I'm surprised nobody has smashed the thing up yet. It looks like they've replaced the glass with plexiglass though.
The local kids seem to treat the park with respect. I have no other answer for it. There are a few other vehicles there as well.

One would think not, unless they knew Whiting like you and I. There are maybe 600 homes or so in Roosevelt City and Fox Hollow combined. Right across the street from the park, and not a senior community. Well behaved kids in general.
