ATCO, NEW JERSEY - February 3, 2011 (WPVI) -- Fire has badly damaged the South Jersey pizza shop owned by former Channel 6 children's show host, Sally Starr. The blaze broke out just before 11:00 on Wednesday night at the Sally Starr Pizza shop on Jackson Road in Atco, New Jersey.

It took firefighters about a half hour to put out the flames.

There are no reports of injuries and no word yet on a cause.

Sally Starr hosted an afternoon children's program on Channel 6 from the 1950s to 1971.

Is Sally still with us?I remember seeing her in Berlin farmers market when i was a kid.My old man used to flirt with her all the time.He was a horn dog back then.still is at 64 but the young ones just laugh at him now.
she must be way old if shes still here.she was much older then him then.

Haha, she sure is, have heard her on that station a couple times. She was talking about suing companies that sell unauthorized merchandise with her name on it. :)

i went to see cheifhalftown at a store opening. he wasn't there. the night before sally star and him were double booked. they got into an argument and the chief left. (could not show next day as he was at dutch wonderland) the store owner said the fight was funny him 6-4 and sally smaller. when the chief left he said "She scares me!" LOL
used to see her a lot at a campground on Delsea Dr, Franklinville NJ . Village Docks maybe???

I saw Gene London at Boscov at Shore Mall. He is the greatest story teller ever, brought the house to tears. He is into fashion. A cat walk with alot of the old time dresses from such movies as "Gone With The Wind". Even the models looked just like the original actresses. A truely great show. Brougth back alot of old memories of Friendship when I used to sit in the front room and wait for Cartoon Corner's General Store.

We went by Sally Star's restaurant today and they have razed it.
