Some color in the sky on the Mullica Saturday morning, everything else is real green. Goodwater Run should be interesting in October.

I didn't realize the sweet Pepperbush was out already.haven't seen it or smelled it when I dry thru Buckshutem swamp everyday going and coming from work

Thanks for giving me the name. I saw it last July, and filed it away, thinking that "I have to get back to that spot same time next year when that white flower is in bloom".

As soon as I saw Jon's second image I could smell the sweet scent of the Pepperbush.

I guess. She has fallen into them a few times and the smell follows you everywhere. And some years it seems are more pungent than others and there have been a few that have been intense.

The essence of the summer swamp to me.Like hot pine needles in the barrens sand in the uplands.

My granddaughter and I look forward to our annual walking the Ridge Road every year when it is in bloom. The swallowtails feeding on the nectar make that an experience we enjoy.
